The term “claymore” is from the Scottis Gaelic word for “great sword”, and it’s an ancient style of Scottish sword used by Highlanders. This wonderful blended whisky was created in its honour.

Claymore was first produced in 1890 by A Ferguson & Co of Glasgow. It was made famous before the Great War through classic advertising where Claymore was used to toast the King. By then, it was being exported all over the world by Greenlees Brothers. The word Claymore is from the Gaelic “claidheamhmor” meaning great sword. Claymore is good quality scotch Claymore is blended by the global distiller of the year, to have a balanced taste, making it ideal for mixing.
